Walk into any soap aisle in any store and you’ll see what we saw: row after row of products that all look and sound pretty much the same, but are all over the place price-wise. It made us wonder, what are we actually paying for?

So we got fed up and decided to do something crazy: make really good skincare.

Did we know anything about it when we set out? Absolutely not. But we did a lot of research, tried a lot of soaps, and talked to lots of people. (Turns out, we weren’t the only ones fed up with big soap brands!) And we partnered with quality labs and producers to make skincare that works well and is worth it.

See, the more research we did, the more fed up we got with big corporate soap brands. The nasty ingredients. The crazy upcharges. The excessive perfuming. Worse yet, green-washing. And don’t even get us started on the cringe, cliche dude-vertising… 


Which is why you won’t find any of that in Commons products. No weird chemicals. No BS ingredients or up-charging for fancy-looking packaging. Just d*mn good skincare that won’t leave your skin feeling itchy, dried out, or sensitive. That’s what we mean when we say it works and it’s worth it.

What really makes Commons different is that we give a fuck. Seriously. 

  • We care about product prices, not stock prices. We’re selective not only about what goes into our skincare, but also about the suppliers we use. Unlike big brands, we can switch suppliers if costs get crazy. Because no one wants to drop a paycheck on soap, including us.

  • Giving back matters to us, too. For every bar of soap bought, we donate one to people in need. Call us crazy, but we don’t believe that “only people who can afford it, deserve it” BS.

  • Also getting clean without mucking up the planet. We only use reusable packaging (and we’ve seen some great travel hacks using it). And when you're done with it, we’ll also cover the cost of recycling it—at no cost to you. Click here to learn more about our recycling program.
